Mario Kart Wii, at least, reasonably lives up the hype. I'm not thrilled that my formerly mute Yoshi now speaks with the voice of a chipmunk, but the mild trash talk is modestly amusing. An uncensored incarnation would even validate the break to his past vow of silence.
I still don't know what to think of John. I'm getting the runaround. I have fallen from the boat, and from the water can not tell if he is still aboard. So I drift, tugged between the beckoning tides of a rocky but romantic voyage and the familiar stability of my stoic island.
In other words, he ignores me for weeks, then just as I begin to concede it a lost cause and deal with the disappointment, he throws me a frail line to impede my progress. We last parted on the seventh, before a weekend I was to spend with family, and he said to inform him of my return. Exactly a week later I did so, but no response was received to this or two texts I'd sent prior. No messages came over myspace, where messages were once daily.
Another week slid by before I asked him if I should be taking a hint. Two days after, I stocked up on beer and chocolate and prepared to forge through the loss when a rather touchy message came that he was embroiled in legal troubles and owed attention to many friends, but was not ignoring me.
It's no secret that he's been up to more than paperwork, yet I can't begrudge him for prioritizing old friends. Still, when he is evidently in such demand that I feel more a chore to him than an aid, I can't comprehend why he won't cut me loose. If it's because he's afraid to deliver the blow, you'd think that spreading my arms wide to accept it would set him at ease. It seems to me that he is holding me in reserve while he weighs his needs.
Damn his blue eyes and playfulness and expressions and intelligence and good taste. Especially his expressions.
I finally have a new favorite anime; Soul Eater. I was trying to find an excerpt of the humor, but google must be cracking down cuz clips are scarce.
My cat, Kizmet, has become a shell collector. If I put one back in my display he hears it and instantly comes running to correct my offense. Apparently we have a difference of opinion on their proper place; he believes the carpet better accentuates their aesthetic.
